When we were little, my grandma used to take all 10 of us grandkids to Christmas tea in San Francisco. But one year the tea served mini hotdogs and my granny was so outraged that we never went back. So when this Christmas rolled around, my mom and I had the idea to restart our tradition and take my grandma to tea at the Palace Hotel in SF. We all went and got our makeup done and then headed over for tea. But as luck would have it, they only serve high tea on Saturdays andit was a Tuesday. Sigh.
Alas, we decided to eat lunch anyway since we were already there and starved. The food was mediocre, but the atmosphere was lively so we ended up having a great time. Hopefully we can take my grandma to a proper tea when we are in NYC this spring.
